Ya' know, the Evil Cake Genius isn't just the inventor of all the must-have cakey stencils and tools. She's a real life Cake Decorator. Yup. Our bakery in Minneapolis, Gateaux Inc. has been making wedding and event cakes for over 20 years.
Which is why the Evil Cake Genius gets it. She knows that this business is hard work and low margin. But we do it anyway, because we LOVES it! So when she comes up with her tools and stencil designs, she makes sure that they are gonna get used! She knows that when you buy one of her stencils you'll want to get the most use out of it as you can, so our designs are as versatile as they are beautiful. Our latest stencils, the Leafy Branch series (don't judge her stencil naming skills) is at first appearance an Autumn stencil. Which is exactly why, we made a Winter cake out of it!
Yup. We know, smarty pants, there aren't leaves on the trees in winter, but work with us, people. This Silver Branches over a hand painted ice blue and pale teal background is winter glory so splendid, that nobody's gonna' care that it defies the laws of nature.
Mostly, what it defies is the laws of cake decorating....you know, the law of "anything this pretty must take three days to complete". Nope, this little baby was created in no time! Just check out the video below:

Easy! We just painted the background with the Bronze+Silver mixture and the Silver+Gold mixture and did the leafy stenciling in straight Gold Powder. But how about spring and summer smarty-pants?
Well, we did warn you that the ECG has a real-life cake shop to be running, so we didn't have time to whip up two more cakes with these gorgeous new stencils, but how about this?
